"If I persist long enough I will win."
What are you talking about? Pregnancy? Or what? Persist doing what? sorry, I hear several different messages in your affirmation and they are not all consistant... Could you explain? Sorry, I just want to be honest, it is important to be honest, to me at least.
No I don't agree either, thats like saying if u dream it will come to u makes no sense really to ppl that are suffering, ppl maybe looking for inspiration from addiction maybe so, but divorce, infertility or anything like that the answer would be def no, so please keep those comments to yourself from me anyways.....don't take me nastily its not meant to be that way I have just had it up to my forehead from ppl telling me inspiration or giving me inspiration....
I couldn't agree more with your quote and think it is a fabulous way to look at life. I believe not having hope is half the problem. The body responds to positive thoughts, as it lowers stress and boosts our immune system, which is responsible for all our healing. Staying low and not believing is never going to get you anywhere! Believe you can and it is amazing how much more you can achieve and do to help yourself and your health!
When we have a belief, we search and hunt for answers. When we have given up, we simply accept the status quo. I am always excited when I find new information to find a way to move forward!
Thanks for this post! I think it is brilliant and so true :)
There is a saying in a book I read - 'every fish has its depth' and 'it is important to know when to stop trying to achieve perfection...there are degrees of perfection but no perfection itself'. Perhaps those of you seeing this inspiration of never give up are taking it this literally - you have found yourself as 'your depth', you discover you have to accept your limits and imperfections - so the 'never give up' loses its power to inspire. Learning to accept is just as important. I think there is value in the inspiration - but reality has a role too.
The book? A nice little novel by and Australian author - Peter Goldsworthy - 'Maestro' - a short read but a good one in terms of life's lessons. has many other valuable insights - particularly for teens.
You're right perfection does not exist, but that doesn't mean we have to just lie down and give up thinking life will never get better. What does that do for us? Absolutely nothing. We can strive to be better, not perfect. I mean this in two ways. We can always strive to be better human beings, and always strive to fight our illnesses whatever they may be. I one does not attempt to fight the illness then the illness wins. This is why everyone should fight. That being said, I know we have to accept our limitations. I accept that I will have bipolar disorder the rest of my life. I will never be able to stop my medications. I will have hellish times, but I'm winning. I control bipolar disorder. IT DOES NOT CONTROL ME! I am more than my disorder.
BTW, if the above comments caused you to feel bad, just remember we are in different places in our separate battles. I was once where they were. Maybe you were too.I agree whole heartedly with what you are saying. It's a lovely affirmation. And stress does cause everything to get worse, from our mental health to our physical health. So you keep up those good thoughts! All the best to you.
